'Finding Their Calling: High School Grads Get Unique Opportunity to Explore Military Academies'

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Every year, high school students participate in job and college fairs seeking opportunities for their future post-graduation.
This weekend at Central High School, individuals fascinated by the military got to attend their very own fair.
"It's a significant day, yet I handle some of the toughest cases nationally, and today, I have the privilege of working with some of the finest young individuals eager to serve their nation; I cannot imagine a more noble purpose," stated Congressman Tim Burchett.
Burchett’s office organized this event for those students, and it included representatives from the United States Naval Academy , U.S. Air Force Academy , WestPoint , The United States Coast Guard Academy , and the United States Merchant Marine Academy .
For those students considering serving their country, today offered an opportunity to explore various military branches and engage directly with recruiters.
"We impulsively decided to go simply because it appeared intriguing, and since I had desired to join the Air Force for quite some time, I thought why not just do that," stated Armen Moll, a freshmen from Farragut.
Burchett’s mom and dad both enlisted in the armed forces, and he has openly expressed his backing for those who have served.
Our military provides remarkable opportunities to explore a vast world. It instills fear in our adversaries and commands respect from our allies, which is well-deserved," Burchett stated. "The individuals who enroll in our service academies are truly exceptional; they represent the forefront of what we stand for.
Burchett expressed that witnessing this new generation being enthusiastic about serving their country is truly delightful.
You often hear many negative aspects regarding youth nowadays, but this exemplifies some of their finest qualities," Burchett stated. "Given my background in East Tennessee, I understand the standards set for our young individuals and the type of citizens they become. This fills me with great gratitude towards the region I represent.
The students expressed that this was an opportunity for them to truly delve into their preferred field and strive toward achieving their objectives.
"It's really significant because it helps me understand how things operate, so when I eventually enlist in the Air Force, I'll have at least some basic knowledge instead of joining with zero experience," Moll explained.
